The Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival is made up of anywhere from 200 to 300 volunteers each year, so we can serve over 18,000 visitors. With the generous volunteer efforts from people in our community, this staple event wouldn’t be possible.
There is a reason the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival received the 2025 Reader’s Choice Award for our excellence. It is because of volunteers like you!

Volunteers Support Our Community
Every volunteer hour makes a difference. Proceeds from the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival go directly toward supporting non-profit organizations, community groups, and river restoration efforts throughout the Royal Gorge Region.
There are plenty of ways to get involved — from working the front gate and beverage stations to assisting vendors and everything in between. And if you have a friend or family member competing in the Great Escape Trail Events, or you simply love being part of the action on local trails, we’d love to have you out there with us.
